Heartland Chevelle Club
Introduction of members and guests.
Treasurer's Report: The treasurer reported that the first distribution of the World of Wheels fund had been made and also that the mailing of hard-copy notices to members who were late with their dues had proven to be very successful with several payments coming in recently.
Secretary's Report: The reading of the previous meeting's minutes was bypassed due to absence of the club secretary. A temporary substitute volunteered to record the minutes at this meeting.
President's Report: The meeting was called to order by President Greg Hansen and discussion of several upcoming car shows included; Midwest Streetrod Assoc Show & Shine on May 1st, Rebels Car Show in Lincoln on June 26th, Hot Cars Under the Stars (Camaro Club's night-time show) on July 23rd, and the Fremont Show (produced by club member John Kennedy) on September 9th.
• There was discussion to see if there were members interested in attending the Eastern Nebraska Western Iowa Car Club Council meetings in Omaha on April 20th, and Lincoln on May 18th. The ENWICCC helps keep clubs informed of legislative issues regarding the automotive hobbyist as well as putting on the state's largest swap meet each year in March and producing the book of all area cars shows for each upcoming year. HCC is a member of the Council and places an ad in their book each year.
• The committee reviewing the club's bylaws reported that they were ready to submit their recommendations to the President. These recommendations will be communicated by email to the club membership at least 10 days prior to the next meeting so that members can review the proposed changes prior to open discussion and voting. As per the bylaws, members unable to attend the meeting may submit their votes via email or regular mail to any club officer at least 48 hours prior to the meeting whenever a vote regarding a change to the bylaws will occur.
• There was discussion of producing a calendar with photos of members cars, more investigation is needed regarding options & costs.
• Lastly, there was a drawing for a door prize of various samples of car care products donated by Zotwave, won by Bob Von Kaenel.
